Oy... this was an interesting episode.
I didn't like it much. Perhaps that was because I missed the last one, but it seemed like a lot of pointless dialogue, misplaced humor, and raw action with little point. Once Ed came to the conclusion that he was going to keep searching for the Stone (mass murder notwithstanding), that was the meat of it. The prison searching, ok, but the whole booby traps thing was kinda overdone. Especially the giant rolling rock. Can you say, "Indiana Jones"? Although the shorty jokes were pretty good.
Some parts I did like: When Hughes is annoying the heck out of his secretary; when Ed sees the guy he's fighting is just a spirit attachment; seeing Scar wounded (take THAT, you brain-imploding jerk).
OK, if I were recommending Ed to a loony bin, this is what I'd say -
1. Troubled childhood 2. Violent tendencies 3. Paranoia 4. Depression 5. Suicidal tendencies 6. Rapid mood swings 7. Hallucinations 8. Denial 9. Insecurity 10 Physical dependence on sewing machine oil 11. Excessive recklessness 12. Obsessive-compulsive 13. Loss of memory 14. Unhealthy egotism 15. Schizophrenia (talks to himself)
Yeesh, with all that against him, I'm surprised Al hasn't turned him in yet.
This has been: Randomness with Amry. Tune in next time to hear Amry say, "Arf!"

Well... it was fun when we jumped on the tramp. And chased Mike through the rain. But my feet are wet. For the benefit of those who know what I'm talking about - I'm going to make a petition to get Edward Elric in an asylum. He needs some SERIOUS shock treatment. I'd recommend it for Al too, but he's a conductor.

THE SECOND DVD CAME OUT!
AND THE MANGA CAME OUT! IT CAME OUT! DO YOU REALIZE WHAT I AM IMPLYING??? IT CAME OUT!
I watched the second DVD, episodes 5-8. All of them were awesome beyond all reason. The episode I describe in moderate detail below is great because of Gracia. She's sweet and soft-spoken, except when she's bellowing at Hughes. Ha ha! Ed shares a birthday with Elysia!
I loved episode 6, where Ed finds out he can transmute without a circle. It's his birthday, so he goes over to the Hughes' for a birthday dinner. At this time, Gracia (Mrs. Hughes) is pregnant with Elysia, who will be born in just a few days. In the middle of dinner, she yells that "it's time!" but it's snowing really hard outside. Hughes tells Ed, Al, and Nina (the cutest little anime girl in the world) to help her, and runs for the doctor.
Later, they are all helping Gracia, who is lying on the couch. Ed arrives with a big tub of hot water, Nina wipes Gracia's forehead with a cloth. They are all keeping their distance.
Ed: Where the **** is Hughes? He's been gone forever! Al: At least she's not having pains anymore... Gracia: OOOOOOWWWWW! OOOOH GOOOOD, I'M DYING! I'M DYING! OOOOOOOW! *falls silent* Al, Ed, and Nina: *spaz* Ed: Dying - that's just a figure of speech, right? RIGHT? Nina: Little Big Brother (her name for Ed), this water's cold! Ed: **** it! *bends down over water and blue light flares up around it, it starts steaming* Al: Brother... how.... did you do that? Ed: *spazzing* I dunno! I just used my head, and it flared, and- Gracia: OOOOOOOOWWWW! OOOOOOWWWW!
From here it gets rather graphic. But the whole scene in just hilarious, because Al and Ed have just no clue what to do. They're running around, yelling, basically being in the way, freaking out. (The HEAD? You can feel the HEAD? What the **** is THAT supposed to mean?) It also means that Ed and Elysia share a birthday! Ha ha!
In episode 5: Hughes and Roy are talking on the phone. On Hughes' end, he's dressed casually and yakking away annoyingly. This is when Gracia is still pregnant. Roy is sitting in Central, his eye twitching a little.
Hughes: I swear, when she got pregnant, she turned into a goddess! But if the baby came tomorrow, would I be emotionally prepared? Blah blah blah... Roy: Hughes, you've told me this 50 times already! If you're that concerned, why don't you talk to your wife about it? Hughes: I have! Blah blah blah... Roy: hangs up* Hughes: Huh? Stupid phone. *redials* Roy ends up hanging up twice more and getting redialed, and there's little "anger" marks popping up all over. Finally, just as he's opening his mouth to yell at Hughes, Hawkeye picks up the other line. Hawkeye: Major Hughes! A word of feminine advice, sir! Babies aren't born after just FIVE MONTHS! *hangs up*
Ah, such great episodes... but when Nina got turned into a chimera and Scar imploded her, I was happy. After hearing Scar's past and seeing what his real motives are, I don't hate him quite so much. What he did for Nina was an act of mercy. Of course, when Ed starts beating the snot out of Tucker and Al has to physically restrain him (his face and gloves are coated with Tucker's blood), it got a little scary... and when Ed almost stabs Al later... but that was unintentional, it wasn't his fault. Poor Ed, he was even crazier at 12 than at 15.

I take back what I said about Kyo. Hot and wonderful as he is, he is right on a level with Roy and Lyude. *thinks about Lyude and is happyhappyhappy* I go for a lot of orange/redheads, don't I? (Pink with my stoopid printer.)

I wish Ringu were stalking me...*stares off dreamily into space, overcome by thoughts of water and televisions*
Anyway...oh god. Sarah showed me the Roy Keychain comversation. "And then they built a SHRINE to the keychain! And then they worshiped the keychain! And then all the bishounen broke free!"
Um. And stuffs to that effect. *blinks*
Yes, Gill, she does the screaming thing to me too.
ME: "Hey, isn't this a Roy keychain?" SARAH: "IT IS TEH PRITTEH SHINEH! EEEEE!" *steals it from me, knocks me over, hugs keychain with no regard for my now-bruised lower half*
