Church songs, Fish songs, all that good stuff. I like a lot of it, especially some of the awesome stuff we sing in church. Post lyrics, names of songs you like, your favorite artist, whatever!
I love Third Day as a band, Dan Schutte as a composer, and my favorite songs are "The Servant Song", "Shout to the North", "Shout to the Lord" (A lot of shouting!), "Here I am, Lord", "The Summons" and
this one that I can't remember the name. We sang it in Nick's church. It went:
"You are my strength when I am weak, You are the treasure that I seek, You are my all in all.
Seeking you as a precious jewel, Lord to give up I'd be a fool, You are my all in all."
Prettyful tune! ;D

Ah well, at least it's rememberable(?).
I can play a lot of it on my cello. The problem is, the lyrics are not much good without the beautiful tune. Rats.
"Here I am, Lord" by Dan Schutte
I the Lord of wind and rain I have borne my people's pain I have wept for love of them They turn away. I who made the stars of night I will make their darkness bright! I will speak my Word to them Whom shall I send?
REFRAIN Here I am, Lord Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night I will go, Lord If you lead me, I will hold your people in my heart.
Then there are a million more verses, all great. "I the Lord of sea and sky/I have heard my people cry..."
BUT - my all-time favorite: On Eagle's Wings. It's based on a psalm (forget which one) and the tune is incredible. Not so much the verses, but the refrain is enough to make you cry. If I can find an Internet recording of it... for now, here are the words (first verse and refrain).
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord Who abide in his shadow for life Say to the Lord, "My refuge! My rock in whom I trust!"
And He will raise you up On eagle's wings, Bear you on The breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun! And hold you in the palm Of His hand.

Awesome lyrics! I love All in All, an excellent song! 'Come' the song, is very good. I like it muchly. Come, now is the time to worship Come, now is the time to give your life Come, just as you are to worship Come, just as you are before our God Come One day every tongue will confess you are God One day every knee will bow Still the greatest treasure remains for those Who gladly choose you now! Yup...very good song

ooo ya I like the song Beautiful one that I like is My God is Near, but I don't know how many people would know it........Nick, you might know it. Make me know your presence Lord, the King of Glory here, You know each thought and action, hope, anxiety, and fear, How kind I hide from Thee?..Can darkness hide iniquity?..Oh, how can I unfaithful be?..when you are very near to me... When God is near, All the world seems far away, When God is near, Every fear is set aside, When God is near, How can I stray, how can I falter? I'll stay upon the altar, I know my God is near. I think that's pretty much how it goes and there's another verse but I won't write it all down

I havent heard of that one, but it sounds awesome...
Over the mountains and the sea, Your river runs with love for me, and i will open up my heart and let the Healer set me free.
Im happy to be in truth, and i will gladly lift my voice, For i will always sing of when You love came down on me
I could sing of Your love forever, i could sing of your love forever. I could sing of your love forever, I could sing of your love forever....
Kinda repetitive the chorus, but i love this song to bits and pieces...

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save 'Till on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me For I am His and He is mine Brought with the precious blood of Christ No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand 'Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand I just learnt this song when we came back to the states but it's really awesome

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful where Your streams of abundance flow Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name When im found in the desert place though i walk through the wilderness Blessed be Your name
Every blessing you pour out ill turn back to praise When the darkness closes in Lord still i will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be you name Blessed the name of the Lord blessed be your glorius name
Blessed be Your name when the suns shining down on me, when the worlds all as it should be Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering, when theres pain in the offering Blessed be Your name
You give and take away You give and take away My heart will choose to say Blessed be your name
what an amazing song, and so true..

Ooh, those are all beautiful. I've never heard them, but just the lyrics are incredible.
Lessee. A Third Day song, I believe.
Oh, what I would do to have The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat of men Onto the crashing waves *forgot the next 3 lines* And the waves are calling out to me, and they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times I tried before and failed The waves, they keep telling me Time and time again, "Boy, you nevere will You never will!"
But the voice of truth Tells me a different story And the voice of truth Says, "Do not be afraid" And the voice of truth Says "This is for my glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth.
So pwetty! I love the Fish, a lot of the songs they play are really nice. There are very few I don't like.
Ooh! Here's one! An incredibly simple tune (almost all quarter notes, four-four time) but it's so simple it's beautiful. This is the song I feel describes the relationship a friend and I have. "The Servant Song."
Will you let me be your servant? Let me be as Christ to you Pray that I may have the grace to Let you be my servant too.
We are travelers on a journey We are brothers on the road We are here to help each other Walk the mile and bear the load.
I will hold the Christ-light for you In the nighttime of your fear I will hold my hand out to you Speak the peace you long to hear.
I will weep when you are weeping When you laugh I'll laugh with you I willl share your joy and sorrow Til we've seen this journey through.
When we sing to God in Heaven We shall find such harmony Born of all we've known together Of Christ's love and agony.

Meh... I always get messed up with that, it's the music not the band that I'm most concerned with. Ah well.
"The Servant Song" has prettty lyrics, but it's the simplicity of the tune that makes it so pretty.
Oy... if there was ever unholy music, it's what my dad is listening to now... Not in a Satanic sense, but just because it's cheesy and stupid and I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT!!! It's a CD of about 2,000,000,000 songs that all get stuck in your head - and they all stink beyond all reason. *twitch*
